The Beginning
Romy du Toit (LinkedIn) is a qualified scientist with majors in Biochemistry and Pharmacology (B.Sc: Biochemistry (UP); B.Sc.(Hons): Pharmacology (UP)). It was during her studies and part time working in her local pharmacy where her passion for helping people, medicine and
health was cultivated.
During her honours year and subsequent research thereafter, Romy realised that there’s a massive disconnect between diseases and modern medicine. The side effects of modern medicine ranging from slight to severe and how diseases and their causes were addressed were concerning to her.
A holistic, whole approach logically made more sense.
Naturopathics and nutraceuticals especially appealed to Romy to address the causes of an illness rather than just treating a symptom. And subsequently, building up one’s immune system and nutritional status which ultimately leads to a healthier bodily system more capable of dealing with future sickness and illnesses.
The Journey
Romy partnered with an integrative doctor in Pretoria and together formulated nutraceutical combinations on a small scale with fantastic results. A few molecules Romy was particularly interested in were, unknown at the time, the birth of what Luster Glo is today. Collagen, vitamin C, glutathione and N-acetyl-cysteine, and their interaction with one another after ingestion fascinated her. The health benefits of these molecules are far reaching but their interactions strongly resonated with aesthetics.
After her pregnancies Romy developed hormonal hyperpigmentation (melasma) in her face and was astounded at how effectively a natural compound such as glutathione could address these concerns.
And so our flagship product was born – the Ultimate Collagen Supplement which was specifically formulated to address hyperpigmentation concerns and restoring skin to a more youthful state, holistically.

Where We Are Today
At this time Romy partnered with Vernon de Wet, who saw an opportunity to scale the business and shared the vision and passion for an aesthetics range of products with Romy.
A hyperpigmentation range was developed, the first company to focus solely on hyperpigmentation.
The positive feedback from our growing list of happy clients has been phenomenal, the results from our initial pilot study even more spectacular, but the empowerment our client experiences after just one box of Ultimate Collagen ….. absolutely priceless.
